MARION VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTSTATION #3

Somerset County, Maryland, U.S.A.

"FIRE, MEDICAL OR RESCUE, MARION FIRE DEPARTMENT IS THERE! We would like to thank you for visiting our web site. This site is dedicated to the citizens of our community in which we serve. It is through the dedication of our citizens that we are able to succeed in our mission as Fire Fighters.

The Marion Volunteer Fire Department, which was Organized in 1937, is comprised with volunteers from the local community. These men and women are diversed in their many occupations. Each volunteer contributes various amounts of expertise through training and years of personal experience. Many years of experience have been culiminated in this manner, all of which have paid big dividends to our community by saving lives and property. These volunteers also assist the local community through Medical Assist as well as Fire Fighting. This means that many times we are the first on scene to most medical emergencies, and render the much need initial care for the patient, whether it be an automobile accident or an injury at home. Currently the membership roles are comprised of 36 Fire Fighters and 4 Cadets.

The Marion Volunteer Fire Department also has a very active and supportive Ladies Auxillary. These Ladies do many thankless jobs and are very rarely recognized outside of the company for their contributions. In all, the company in conjuction with each other work as a cohesive team, supporting the citizens of Marion, and the small rural communities of Rehobeth, Shelltown, Marumsco, Quindocqua, and Kingston.
