(revised 12/08)
( Except for an amendment limiting the terms of all members of the House and Senate, and to
abolish the Electoral College…good luck with that. )
"Beware the
military-industrial complex" ~Pres.
D. Eisenhower
Our Constitution is written to be about what our government cannot do. It is supremely and importantly NOT about what “we the people”(the authors) cannot do. There have been abuses, testimony to the frivolous disregard and contempt for the directives of our Constitution that can occur. The 18th Amendment (prohibition) is a prime example of the folly possible in the legislative process. (This painful mistake had to be repealed by yet another amendment # 21) Please don’t let the BushCreeps sully our Constitution of these United States of America as they scream out about “activist judges legislating from the bench”, so that they may destroy the protections we have wrapped about us to prevent them from legislating from the PULPIT. Let the electorates in the states and their legislatures deal with these wholly social not governmental issues. We must not allow the Bible to supplant the Constitution. That is another reason that we authors had to write the document. Freedom of religion is also freedom from religion. This is sacrosanct. That’s why we had to escape the Church of England, the yoke of the crown, and assert the Declaration of Independence. That independence forged the path to our Constitution.

If only they can keep us misdirected in pondering the mysteries of life and accepting the delusion of “life after death” or anything else that is non-demonstrable, they can explain away all their errors. This is when “faith” becomes a very bad word: when it obfuscates reality. When it offers an alternative to summoning the courage to accept “I have one life to live”, “faith” diminishes the human requirement of being responsible for one’s own actions. This is the vehicle of misdirection that the Bush administration relies upon to excuse the inexcusable. “The devil made me do it” is no less delusional as a statement than is: “God made me do it”. “Faith” and “people of faith” are wonderful propaganda and vote-garnering devices. (The bandwagon device) They also carry their own taboo and we have to tiptoe around their requirement for Constitutional protections also, lest we be hypocrites. Bush knows this, if only because Rove told him. Let them stack the courts, so they may “legislate from the bench” as they so vehemently object to until it is their idea of your proper thoughts and behavior that will be tolerated. The Thought Police are coming ergo the “pre-emptive” strike (more like hideous aggression) in Iraq. After all…he knew what they were thinking. Egomania, plain & simple. Now unbridled.
Note:
The above passage is written not to slam faith or the faithful, (hope being
essential to the human condition) but to elucidate how the BushCreeps love to
seize upon and exploit words that they assumed have only
positive connotations. “Homeland”, “patriot”,
etc. are examples of this psycho lingo attempts to subtly propagandize. Try to
recognize the scare words (“axis of evil, mass destruction”, etc.) as well as
the purr words, so that you may arrive at a more logical and informed
interpretation.
Regarding Immigration Into OUR Country:
"The
plain fact is that until Ronald Reagan called off enforcement of our labor laws
we didn't have an immigration problem. The amnesty of 1986, combined with his
attacks on the power of labor unions, turned a migrant population into
permanent residents, taking what used to be good union jobs away from American
citizens.
Under George Bush the situation has grown dramatically worse as work site
enforcement has dropped 95%, and the number of employers prosecuted and fines
against them have dropped to almost nothing. THAT'S our problem, friends. There
is no fence that can seal our borders as long as there are employers scoffing
at the law to hire people who shouldn't be here.
As Thom Hartmann has so perceptively observed recently, what the Reagan amnesty
mostly did was let employers off the hook to hire people who were already
here. At the same time, lax enforcement of the law has allowed those
employers to use the empty threat of turning people in as a bludgeon to keep
them from demanding any labor rights. For if there are no raids
otherwise, that would be their only fear. This has put our own labor
unions in a squeeze by having to compete with others who are being
exploited." ~ Reprinted from “The Pen”

An
element of luck accompanied our best presidents. Pres. Wm. J. Clinton had it. Ronald Reagan had it bigtime.
George W. Bush
never had it, still doesn’t. We need that element of “luck”. Alas, these are
rare and elusive phenomena. Where oh where art thou ? It’s not John McCain, maybe not Obama either.
Remember: the
words “up to” includes ZERO. Be suspicious every time you hear this deceptive
ad jargon and insist that a precise range be stated.
OIL
A national
research & development program to develop alternatives to fossil fuels,
with as much
vigor and funding as Kennedy's moon shot
should have been launched decades ago. There is an ever
more popular argument that various
technologies are being withheld from the consumers of the world.
Bring all those
technologies to the fore, and reward those who developed them with jobs and
corporate
missions to replace any lost in the fossil
fuels sectors. (brought forward from
later in this doc)
Ø All available industry that build ocean platforms are
completely engaged for 6 to 8 years into
the
future. Still, the oil barons have bribed your Congress and Senate to ram this
contempt for protections
through,
while the criminal Bush regime remains in power to allow these unconscionable
trespasses.
Oddly
enough, because of the physical limitations as stated, there is plenty of time
to meet these
concerns
as we proceed with caution. The oil barons are not able to begin drilling even
if your
elected
officials earn their bribes by forcing careless legislation forward right
away. Relax.
Why lax
enforcement ?
Ø There are plenty of laws on the books now that is designed
to stem the flow of illegal immigration.
Why
is it not being enforced ? Perhaps so that our social safety net will be overwhelmed.
So that
the
feds (Bush and maybe subsequent regimes) will not have to repay the raided
Social Security
and
other funds they have squandered down the rat hole of Iraq. They will blame it
then on YOU,
Mr.
& Mrs. America. Our failing public schools, hospitals, public transit
systems. It will all
be
OUR fault ! Hee hee …what a dastardly bunch of creeps that will leave this
burnt out shell of a
country
to your children. This bunch of criminals, because : THEY WANT IT ALL
!
Only time will tell, but so far Pres. Elect Obama appears to be free of the criminal influence and
inept
egomania of his predecessor. Nevertheless, he will face incredible pressures as
the effort
advances.
Many of us are relieved to hear promise of talent graced in intelligence for a
change.
We
pledge assistance and support so long as our good conscience remains
undiminished. After
the
insult of the last eight years, skepticism remains in the American psyche.
Please understand.
Some
hopes:
·
Restore the
office of Surgeon General in the public health mission.
·
Restore solar
panels (and other green measures) to White House, etc.
·
Prod the
legislature to decriminalize marijuana and relax failed
elements in all areas, including
the “war on drugs”.
American forces
are NOT engaging terrorists or terrorism (Islamic or otherwise) in Iraq. These fanatics are
busy figuring
ways to stab us in the back. They have
no intention of taking losses against a supremely equipped
military machine
that is the U.S. and allied forces. Bush failed to have planners, strategists,
translators, do our
proper homework
launching a rush to war, perhaps out of fear that Congress and others would
come to their senses
and realize the
terrible waste that is occurring. The psychological transference with which the
no-talent Bush team is
placating the
American public is wearing thin. If their minds and hearts cannot recognize
and/or admit their deficiencies, they must be turned out.
Given the
volatility of the area, some U.S. presence somewhere in the Middle East seems
mandatory. If the U.N. could be trusted to take up the mission, that would be
the way to go. I’m sure they want
nothing to do with it,
and even if they
would, US forces might still have to be the primary muscle.
..."If in
the midst of this general disruption,
you do not succeed in connecting

will you have of

except by
fear ?"
--- Alexis de
Toqueville
This is exactly how the Bush folk are trying
to retain their less-than-elected control of the White House. By FEAR.
Damnit ! First
you (Congress et al) let the guy create this “war” then you let him
claim that his creation confers upon him some kind of indispensability. What gross disregard for the American
people.
Those
Senators & Representatives who voted to disregard the U.S. Constitution
when they agreed to let George Bush
invade a sovereign nation, have enjoined themselves from
advancing to higher office.
These individuals include : Hillary R. Clinton, Joseph Biden, John Kerry. Who else ? =All those Republicans and others
who failed to find a way to legislate
within the
directives of our Constitution as promulgated by We The People of the United
States of America. The short list of contenders who seem to have avoided abusing procedure and process include : Al
Gore(not a voter in Res.1441), Dennis Kucinich, Russ Feingold, Barack Yo’
Mama…er…I mean Barack Obama and many others who respectfully (or not) declined
to let us present the specter of international thuggery upon a world already
beset with insurmountable problems.
Post election
: Why would a constitutional law
professor (Barack Obama) select Joseph R. Biden as VP inasmuch as that Senator
chose to do the end run around the constitution when he voted for letting Bush
plunder US lives and resources in Iraq? Hopefully we shall see what is afoot
here although I doubt it.
Once upon a time, many moons ago, there was a young man who loved baseball. His daddy even bought him a baseball team, which quickly became a financial burden. So the young man taxed all the residents of the home city and built a great baseball stadium, which vastly increased the value of the failing baseball team. Aha ! said the failing owner, who then sold the failing team at the improved value. “What a smart boy am I” The taxpayers ? One guy got two free tickets to a Rangers game. Millions and millions extracted off the backs of the taxpayers by George W. Bush. Then the American taxpayers reward this behavior by allowing the GOP and/or DNC to destroy
free and fair
elections and select the perpetrator President. It worked in Texas … now I will
do it again ! (The present “tax cut”) The Feds cut taxes -> reduces payments
to states -> states cut programs AND reduce funds to counties -> counties
raise property taxes etc. Jobs ? What kind
of jobs ? Our nation needs a new manufacturing base, a new technical base, and
most of all : a new energy base. (Thank you W. for the 1.3 billion for
hydrogen fuel cell/non-fossil fuel research...Is it real ? Where are those jobs
? )
Even as
corporations are leaving in droves, this grotesque redistribution of wealth
looks like an attempt to create an underclass so that domestic corporations
will be able to slash wages, keep workers desperate so
that corporations will finally be able to compete with those who
are paying only fish heads & rice.
WHAT NOW ?
Watch… US forces
will establish a most formidable presence at the tanker ports where Iraq
squeezes down to its tiny piece of waterfront on the Persian Gulf. Also, a fortified 30,000 + troops supply
& command center at Baghdad Airport and 50,000 at the oil fields. After all,
Bush said: “Iraqi oil will help pay for it…” Now they gonna get the bill !
About 20,000 will be able to come home.
If all goes well…That you Abdul ?
…more later.
Later : Now comes the hard part…hmmmmm…how we gonna
withdraw into the American camp while tethering the invisible strings and
siphons to increase sucking up dat sweet crude ? Pump it down to terminals in Kuwait ? Through Kuwait ? A capital
idea old boy ! (Good old boy …that is.)
What the ? Ooops! I forgot about the back door…run it
through Jordan and the tip of Israel for transport out of the Mediterranean.
Hee hee… very sneaky. No wonder King Huessein was just stroked by the White
House and, of course, the buddy buddy Israelies are in our pockets BIGTIME. 160
BILLION dollars. For one tyrant in a hole ?
Uh oh ! What’s
this ? Great: an Iraq-Turkey pipeline…Hee hee. Fill ‘er up.

"Still, it is true, lamb," said Satan. "Look at you in war--what
mutton
you are, and how ridiculous!"
"In war? How?"
"There has never been a just one, never an honorable one--on the part of
the instigator of the war. I can see a million years ahead,
and this rule will never change in so many as half a dozen instances.
The loud little handful--as usual--will shout for the war. The
pulpit will--warily and cautiously--object--at first; the great, big,
dull bulk of the nation will rub its sleepy eyes and try to make out
why there should be a war, and will say, earnestly and indignantly, "It
is unjust and dishonorable, and
there is no necessity for it." Then the handful will shout louder. A few
fair men on the other side will argue and reason against the
war with speech and pen, and at first will have a hearing and be
applauded; but it will not last long; those others will outshout them,
and presently the anti-war audiences will thin out and lose popularity.
Before long you will see this curious thing: the speakers
stoned from the platform, and free speech strangled by hordes of furious
men who in their secret hearts are still at one with those
stoned speakers--as earlier--but do not dare to say so. And now the
whole nation--pulpit and all--will take up the war-cry, and shout
itself hoarse, and mob any honest man who ventures to open his mouth;
and presently such mouths will cease to open. Next the
statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that
is attacked, and every man will be
glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study
them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus
he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank
God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of
grotesque self-deception." ~ Mark Twain

“
The real wars of religion are the wars religions unleash against ordinary
citizens within their “spheres of influence”. They are wars of the godly against
the largely defenseless. American fundamentalists against pro-choice doctors,
Iranian mullahs against their country’s Jewish minority, the Taliban against
the people of Afghanistan, Hindu fundamentalists in Bombay against that city’s
increasingly fearful Muslims.”
“The victors in that war must not be
closed-minded, marching into battle with, as ever,
God
on their side. To choose unbelief is to choose mind over dogma, to trust in our
humanity instead of all these dangerous divinities.” –

“Startling to find something
close to self-hatred in the lines of a national bard. Yet this perhaps is the
only kind of nationalist a writer can be. When the imagination is given sight
by passion, it sees darkness as well as light. To feel so ferociously is to
feel contempt as well as pride, hatred as well as love. These proud contempts,
this hating love, often earn the writer a nation’s wrath. The nation requires
anthems, flags. The poet offers discord. Rags.” *

INSIST ON
RETAINING ALL YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS !
Please
note this final paragraph Article II, section 1 : The oath of incoming
presidents : “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute
the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my
Ability, preserve,
protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
So, now I stand
alone, my fellow Americans having remained silent about a dubiously selected
president who has already violated his oath of office, in the company of a Congress
that has acted outside their affirmations as well. These departures from our
Constitution are totally UNNECCESSARY to our requirement to enhance and
increase our efforts at national security. This mandate can be achieved
lawfully, within the confines of the
Constitution. It only takes a body politic that will not tolerate anything
less, which has the talent to provide the paths to Constitutionally sound
remedies. Now in this really important
circumstance, in a time that makes the previous urgency and vitriol of
this loudly
hailed question seem perversely trivial, I must scream it again : WHERE IS THE
OUTRAGE ???
Why didn’t
Congress just go ahead and declare war on Iraq and leave it to the Commander in
Chief to conduct it ?
That is exactly
the posture that the Executive is in as a result of Congress action in Res.
1441. Congress did not have to dump on
our Constitution in order to honor the Executive. It is as if they are preparing the public by establishing un
-Constitutional legislation as a precedent. I implore any and all public
advocates to interfere with
this trend and
restore the “Constitutional” aspect to the future of our constitutional
republic, this United States of America.
Now comes George
W. Bush; de facto President of the United States, as his party mechanisms come
to propose SJ
Res. 1441 to nullify* provisions of our Constitution
Article 1, Sec. 8, paragraph 11 : “…Congress shall have Power
to
declare War, grant letters
of Marque and Reprisal…” etc. Sen. Byrd
has blown the whistle on this affront to
the Forefather’s
authored system of checks and balances.
The Power to declare War is conspicuously absent
under Article II,
which strictly lists powers of the Executive.
Why this callous disregard for our guiding documents
by the Bush
folks ? Why would the Supreme Court not find such folly un Constitutional ? It
would be a violation of their oaths, should Members of Congress abrogate this
specifically directed DUTY under the terms of their sworn service.
*Main Entry: nul·li·fy
Pronunciation: 'n&-l&-"fI
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): -fied; -fy·ing
Etymology: Late Latin nullificare, from
Latin nullus
Date: 1535
1 : to make null; especially
: to make legally null and void
2 : to make of no value or consequence
synonyms NULLIFY,
NEGATE, ANNUL,
ABROGATE, INVALIDATE
mean to deprive of effective or continued existence. NULLIFY implies counteracting completely the
force, effectiveness, or value of something <a penalty nullified the touchdown>. NEGATE implies
the destruction or canceling out of each of two things by the other <the
arguments negate each other>. ANNUL suggests making ineffective or nonexistent
often by legal or official action <the treaty annuls all previous agreements>. ABROGATE
is like ANNUL but more
definitely implies a legal or official purposeful act <a law to abrogate trading privileges>. INVALIDATE implies making something powerless or
unacceptable by declaration of its logical or moral or legal unsoundness
<the court invalidated the
statute>.
Any fool with
authority can order troops into war, even create a war to do so, but it takes
intellect, insight, and a genuine talent to find ways to deliver us from
hardship and help us keep the wolves from our doors. This is where the
BushCreeps appear so sadly unfit. “Compassionate conservatism” ? LIARS !
Interdict attacks on our Constitution ! Be vigilant against the Bush creep
toward totalitarianism.
This site seldom
presumes to speak for "most Americans", but this time we
feel supported
in venturing this little tidbit :
Q: What do we
Americans really want ?
A: We want PEACE and PROSPERITY . Not via world
domination, thank you very much.
"Bush
at least acknowledged that we know little about Saddam's nuclear capability,
but he lied about why. Bush claimed that Iraq barred the inspectors of
the International Atomic Energy Agency in 1998. In fact, the inspectors, along
with those from the U.N. Special Commission, were withdrawn by their agencies
-- not expelled by Iraq -- in December 1998 when it became clear the Clinton
administration was going to bomb Iraq (as it did) and the safety of the
inspectors couldn't be guaranteed." -Robt Jensen .Univ. of Texas.

Joe Smith started
the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN

his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with
his electric razor
(MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE

he sat down with his calculator (MADE

setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN)
to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another
discouraging and fruitless day, Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his

"There is an amazing strength
in the expression of the will of a
whole people; and when it declares
itself, even the imagination
of those who would wish to contest
it is overawed. The truth of
this fact is well known by parties;
and they consequently strive
to make out a majority whenever they
can. If they have not the
greater number of voters on their
side, they assert that the true
majority abstained from voting; and
if they are foiled even there,
they have recourse to those who had
no right to vote" - Alexis de
Tocqueville ; "Democracy in
America"
However,
Tocqueville's observation of over 100 years ago does not make it OK. In fact, it
is much worse that well meaning Americans are not being represented, their
votes stolen, their wills suppressed. It was thought that we could "get
over it" but
the anger is
growing, unrest is nagging Joe Sixpack and Jane Doe. Criminal manipulations
fomented by Gov. Jeb Bush in Florida must be exposed. Indict Database
Inc.* of Florida,
start the ball rolling, and let the counter-coup begin...Let's ROLL !
But wait !
Michael Moore avers that "173,000 registered voters in Florida were
permanently wiped off the voter rolls." in his book Stupid White Men. Therefore
someone should
attempt to substantiate this statement by interviewing a sample
of these
individual voters, say 2000 of them, and determine by interrogatory, examining
their past voting history to see if they would have been likely to go
to the polls and
to determine if they were valid potential Al Gore votes. If so, all
hell could break
loose ! If not, we'll all feel better with George W. Bush.*
*5/25/04 In a
recent Washington Journal on C-Span, reporter Greg Palast reported that
“Choicepoint” of Florida
was the “company” retained by the Jeb
Bush administration to do the hatchet job on the voter roles. I think
Moore reported this “company” operated
as “Database” Inc.
The characteristic
disregard for process, advise and consent and other, of the Bush regime is most
distressing
to a peace loving
populous. I'm becoming more apprised of
a mindset out here, that holds that we have never,
apriori Bush, known
such an overt, pushy, and careless attempt to create, impose, manipulate, behavior and belief.
Some may be poised
to assert that this is what government is expected to do. It is a true
distortion of purpose if
any government that
purports to manage a free people, would pervert itself to determine rigidly
what quality of freedom it seeks to impose (as opposed to uphold). This is due
to a lack of finesse and respect for a more sophisticated people (politically)
by the current administration. A "hands off" policy is the hallmark
of a government
that is truly
dedicated to nourishing a free society. It is management, not rule.
A "good job" by Bush in this war ? Bolluxderdash !
Where are the "dead or alive" WANTED posters ? You
think Bin Laden is in Pakistan ? Why no
reports of ANY effort to arrest this dog on Pakistani TV, in the markets,
Interpol, U.N; private trackers, etc. ? Ask
any American citizen : "What is the reward for information leading to
the arrest of Bin Laden ?" Nobody
knows...how strange. Just as a PR
thing, broadcast it !
Beware the propaganda of the Bush regime:
The
subtleties abound. Words like "Patriot Act" work
to mold your
mind before you investigate. The bottom line remains the same: YOU
DO NOT HAVE TO LIKE
BUSH TO LOVE
AMERICA !
Private School Vouchers Myth vs. Fact:
Promoters of "educational choice"
make many assertions about the positive effects of private school vouchers on
America's educational system. Are these claims true? What would vouchers really
do? Let's examine some of the common myths about vouchers and review the facts.
MYTH: Vouchers are a constitutional way to assist parochial and other private
schools. FACT: Vouchers result in tax dollars flowing to private sectarian
schools. Sectarian schools account for 85 percent of the total private school
enrollment in the United States. These schools serve as arms of religious
ministries and integrate religious values and doctrine throughout their
curriculum, indoctrinating students on controversial subjects such as abortion,
creationism and the role of women in society. Church-state provisions in the
federal and state constitutions prohibit government from subsidizing sectarian
education, either directly or indirectly. As a result, federal and state courts
have repeatedly struck down various schemes designed to funnel tax dollars to
religious schools. The fact that parents may "choose" the private
school is legally irrelevant, because public funds will still be used for
religious instruction. Voucher plans have been struck down in Florida, Maine,
New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico and Vermont, even when some laws
provided funds for public school choice. -From : BushWatch.com

OP/ED Money is PROPERTY
MONEY IS NOT SPEECH. Throughout history
certain occupations have carried
with them the
expectation that those engaged in the job need exercise special
care to avoid
even the APPEARANCE of selling favors, favorable decisions,
or circumstance.
It would seem that this lofty tenet would apply to legis-
lators first as
that action may affect so many lives existing under laws,
imposed or
provided. The corrupt politician accepting "bribes" or
"graft"
has always been
an objectionable image in American society. What is the
critical distinction
between an agent of a corporation placing monies
in political
"conduits" and the driver on the side of the road wishing
to dissuade the
state trooper from issuing a citation? Are these exercises
in free speech?
Bribery? Both? One distinction is that the corporate
"agent"
is not subject to prosecution while the driver may be. Violation
of the
"Public Trust" is also not a determining factor in that the corporate
mission would
usually result in much greater impact than would the transaction
described in the
traffic stop.
"I wish to persuade you to consider
my plea" and "I wish to PAY
you to consider
my plea", are two entirely different statements. Money
is money and
speech is speech. I am suspicious now of those that argue
that money is speech.
They probably have the most to lose and I am
thankful that I
have a right to say so.
What would happen if every campaigner
received a set of monies
and could only
expend that much equally? Major ticket items such as TV advertising
could be better
utilized if there were some equality on ALL sides. This would
probably
increase revenues to TV related industry too, but it would definitely
help
fractionalize the voters. This is a GOOD thing because the two-party
monster has to
be weaned off the American public, corporate and private, if
the erosion of
our freedoms and rights (to govern ourselves) is to abate.
The fix that kept fringe parties out of
the debates should nauseate
you. Wont
someone seek to protect us from these abusive distortions?
What you can do
: vote for ANYONE not Dem or Rep.
PLEASE HEAR THIS: FULL DISCLOSURE will NOT,
in itself, end the problem. The
powers we
entrust to these people must not be sold, rented, leased, loaned or
otherwise
compromised or influenced even IF we know about it. This is why
I see no way of
busting-up the money connections without emplacing absolute
strangers in the
positions and/or placing severe and arguably questionable
(constitutionally)
restraints on campaign and in-office "financing". Because
the former would
be a mere temporary inconvenience (money being even more
powerful than
our trust) the later would also be necessary. The political
system in this
country is too far gone, too beholding to the corporate and
private sources
of big money. We are all slaves of these forces. The very
THOUGHT of
removing money from politics is beginning to receive accusations
of naiveté. So,
get your passports in force. Your vote and your homeland is
being bought
and/or sold right out from under you. TERM LIMITS NOW AND/OR TOTAL

YOUR ELECTED
OFFICIALS
DONT be fooled
by the ongoing efforts to make you believe that the differences
in character or philosophy
you perceive is attributable to "parties" or "liberals"
or
"conservative" viewpoints. It all boils down to that age-old struggle
to control
the wealth:
money, money, money. That said, please consider that the first and foremost
obligation of
any elected official is to enhance the quality of our lives.
Who needs this
kind of help? Who is the voter? Are WE
the government?
It’s simple to
judge these politicians. Look at these indicators :
1.) What is produced
by their daily work effort. Are they engaged in "sideline"
activities (self-promotion, book deals,
etc.) designed primarily to reward
themselves? Or, do they generally go
quietly about the more mundane tasks
of enhancing our quality of life?
2.) Do they
appear at work every day ? Or do they often appoint others while
they engage in "exploratory
trips" and other "research" or time away from
the most obvious requirements of their
office?
3.) Look at
their record. Every effort, every vote, in all cases, should re-
flect motivation to enhance quality of
life for others. Their record
should mirror the will of constituents
even when those constituents may
be "wrong". Is there a conflict
here? Does it appear that they may have
served forces other than their
constituents will?
4.) Are they
enamored of their own countenance? Do they display a demeanor
that suggests that they believe themselves
to be a "leader" first and
a messenger of the people second ? Do they
seem to be more concerned
with allegiance to their personal agenda
and to their friends or party aff-
iliates ? It is not difficult to recognize
these public burrs. It is,
sadly, more difficult to remove them. TERM
LIMITS NOW !

DAILY BLURB :
04/08/98 Because of the implications raised by the
tragedy of flight 800
the entire fleet must be examined.
The cause of the explosion may
still not be learned. The volatile environment of an empty fuel
vessel is being studied. The bilges
on ships are vented aren't they ? The Clinton
administration should be commended
for their continuing efforts but
I wonder if grounding the entire
fleet could have been considered.
Makes an entire industry/economy
appear dangerously fragile..
4/22/98 We are weary of hearing arguments that
compare health hazards
of eating fatty foods with those of
tobacco use. These
substances are not comparable. The
big difference is that tobacco
use confers a HIGHLY ADDICTIVE
substance known as nicotine. Only
when you remove nicotine from
tobacco may you compare the substance
with the deleterious effects of other consumables.
5/22/98 Congress entertains a debate about amending
the Constitution of
the United States of America, they
expend time and energy in order
to make it the law of the land to
confuse a symbol with the things
symbolized...the "Flag
Amendment". As they prepare to shatter the
sanctity of the first amendment,
they dare not touch the second,
(although it provides no protection
for an individual to own guns*)
while children murder children in
our nation's schools... Instead of
FIXING the problem of deteriorating
public schools, they wish to provide
VOUCHERS to channel the kids
into private schools ? What ? Where is
my voice ? Where am I living?
No way I should be able to buy
handguns at K-Mart and Roses.
As Christopher Hitchens said on
C-SPAN "...you
have NO HOPE of "gun
control" in America". Hitchens is a BRIT and
he sees it more clearly than WE do !
7/2008 *Finally, the US Supreme Court has
determined this IS an individual right.
6/4/98 Why this mad rush to exception for the
Bill of Rights? Why
does Congress pretend that there is
any need to "amend" this
cosmic document ? Why do we maintain
this incredibly expensive
judicial machinery (known as the
Supreme Court) and then resist
living within the findings of these
learned "experts" ? Why would
lucid members of Congress imply that
the Supreme Court seeks to
make society writhe in agony under
erroneous, flawed, or otherwise
mistaken and wrongful
interpretations of our guiding documents ? The
Supreme Court is supposed to be just
that: The SUPREME Court, the
end of the line, no more changing
the game or branches of government
engaging in one-upmanship. Shut up
and live with it Congress. We
must, why not you ? There is
certainly nothing wrong with prayer in
school. Not mandatory, not the whole
school reciting a regimented
sing-song, follow the leader, robot
mind-control oratory...rather
a personal, private moment of
reflection and affirmation of self,
God, Cosmo Kramer, whatever.
"Whatever" is the operative word/concept
that the authors of the Constitution
aspired to protect. Shut up and
leave that alone.
9/21/98
"There is an amazing strength
in the expression of the will of a
whole people; and when it declares
itself, even the imagination
of those who would wish to contest
it is overawed. The truth of
this fact is well known by parties;
and they consequently strive
to make out a majority whenever they
can. If they have not the
greater number of voters on their
side, they assert that the true
majority abstained from voting; and
if they are foiled even there,
they have recourse to those who had
no right to vote" - Alexis de
Tocqueville ; "Democracy in
America"
"...and the never ending fight
for truth, justice, and the Amer-
ican way " - from
"Superman"
I leave you with these two passages
so that you may embrace 1.)
ambiguity or 2.) fantasy, that you may ascribe some justification
to the destruction and trampling of
your INDIVIDUAL rights
as a renegade Congress imposes a
Parliamentarian rule. Congress
should be cited for contempt of the
Constitution.

If you wish to STOP SMOKING
....
It took me three years to break that damned
addiction. These are some of my
most memorable battles and observations :
1) If you consume alcoholic beverages you
MUST stop until you have broken
the cigarette/beverage hook. Unlike the
coffee trigger, the booze thing lowers
your will so much that it will allow you to
fail every time. STOP going to
bar rooms at least for the first few months.
2) Likewise, without being completely
anti-social, don't go around the
"smoke break" area if a place like
that exists around the workplace. Let
yourself get to know your other areas.
3) Make yourself destroy every cigarette you
find or package you acquire
by running them under tap water. When you
see what that looks like, and
realize how irreversible your will has been
over the poison, you will re-
enforce your strength and will to dump that
noxious drug delivery tube.
4) I read this and it helped me: "If you
should have craving, do this: take
a deep breath and hold it just a second and
while exhaling slowly, think
to yourself : I've had all I can have and
the mild sadness I feel is the
result of my conscious mature decision to
deny myself something I wanted."

============================================================================
From: The
Enlarged Devil's Dictionary by : Ambrose Bierce.
> Birth, n. The first and direst of
all disasters. As to the nature
of it there appears to be no
uniformity. Castor and Pollux were
born from the egg. Pallus came out of
a skull. Galatea was once
a block of stone. Peresilis , who
wrote in the tenth century ,
avers that he grew up out of the
ground where a priest had spilled
holy water. It is known that Arimaxus
was derived from a hole in
the earth , made by a stroke of
lightning. Leucomedon was the son
of a cavern in Mount Aetna, and I have
myself seen a man come up
out of a wine cellar.
> Executive, n. An officer of the
Government, whose duty it is
to enforce the wishes of the
legislative power until such time
as the judicial department shall be
pleased to pronounce
them invalid and of no effect.
Following is an extract from an old
book entitled, "The Lunarian
Astonished"- Pfieffer & Co., Boston, 1803:
LUNARIAN: Then when your Congress
has passed a law it goes directly
to the Supreme Court in order that it
may at once be known whether it
is constitutional ?
TERRESTRIAN: O no; it does not
require the approval of the Supreme Court
until perhaps having been enforced for
many years somebody objects to
its operation against himself-I mean
his client. The President, if he
approves it, begins to execute it at
once.
LUNARIAN: Ah, the executive power
is part of the legislative. Do
your policemen also have to approve
the local ordinances that they enforce?
TERRESTRIAN: Not yet-at least not
in their character of constables.
Generally speaking, though, all laws
require the approval of those whom
they are intended to restrain.
LUNARIAN: I see. The death warrant
is not valid until signed by
the murderer.
TERRESTRIAN: My friend, you put it
too strongly; we are not so
consistent.
LUNARIAN: But this system of
maintaining an expensive judicial
machinery to pass upon the
validity of laws only after they
have long been executed, and then only
when brought before the court
by some private person-does it not
cause great confusion?
TERRESTRIAN: It does.
LUNARIAN: Why then should not your
laws previously to being exe-
cuted, be validated, not by the
signature of your President, but by that
of the Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court?
TERRESTRIAN: There is no precedent
for any such course.
LUNARIAN: Precedent. What is that?
TERRESTRIAN: It has been defined
by five hundred lawyers in three
volumes each. So how can anyone
know?

>>>Healthcare Reform<<<
Hilary Clinton
was taking a tour of a D.C. hospital
while working to
reform healthcare in the U.S.
As she is
touring, a doctor is explaining all the different
functions of the
hospital to her. Eventually, they
pass an open room
in the inpatient ward, where Hilary
could clearly
see a middle aged man masturbating with
great
enthusiasm. The doctor quickly instructed the
floor nurse to
close the door. It was too late, Hilary
had already
seen. She fiercely looked at the doctor
and said,
"What kind of hospital are you running here
Doctor?"
The doctor
calmly explained to the First Lady that the
man had a very
rare ailment, which required him to ejaculate
three times
daily, or his testicles would swell and
he would die.
Hilary accepted
the doctor's explanation and they moved
on.
A few minutes
later, they came across another open room,
yet this time
they witnessed a nurse on her knees giving
a different
middle-aged man oral sex.
Hilary was
outraged and called for an immediate explanation.
"It's very
simple Mrs. Clinton", said the doctor. "This
man suffers from
the same ailment as the last man, however
he has a much
better health plan."

A rather
attractive woman goes up to the bar in a quiet rural pub. She gestures
alluringly to
the barman who
comes over immediately. When he arrives, she seductively signals that he
should bring his
face close to hers. When he does so, she begins to gently caress his beard
which is full
and bushy.
"Are you

"Actually,
no" he replies.
"Can you
get him for me - I need to speak to him?" she asks, running her hands up
beyond
his beard and
into his hair.
"I'm afraid
I can't" breathes the barman - clearly aroused. "Is there anything I
can do?"
"Yes there
is. I need you to give him a message" she continues huskily, popping a
couple of
fingers into his
mouth and allowing him to suck them gently. "Tell him that there is no
toilet
paper in the
ladies room."

While conducting a full physical examination
the doctor asked of his male
patient :
"What's this?" Looking down, the patient was equally surprised to
see a bright red
ring and a dark brown ring around the oft referred to member.
"Wait
here" said the doctor as he repaired to his laboratory. "Well, I have

have bad news" the doctor reported having analyzed the sample.
"The red
ring is lipstick..." "Yeah, what's the BAD news Doc ?" asked his
patient.
"The brown ring ...well, Its CHEWING
