LAYERED MEXICAN DIP

1 package ( 8 ounces ) cream cheese or neufchatel cheese 2 cups ( 8 ounces ) shredded mild cheddar cheese divided 1/4 cup sliced green onions, divided 1 clove garlic , minced 1/2 cup salsa or Picante 1/2 cup chopped tomato
* Mix cream cheese, 1 cup of the cheddar cheese, 3 tablespoons of the onions and garlic. Spread onto bottom of 9 inch pie plate. * Mix salsa and tomato; spread over cream cheese mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheddar cheese and remaining 1 tablespoon onion. Serve with tortilla chips. Makes 8-10 servings.
