Lisa
began riding as a child with nationally recognized Hunter/Jumper trainer Wayne
Carroll. She then continued with Dressage training as an adult. She has been
coached by FEI competitors Becky Langwost, Karen Rohlf, Ann Howard, nationally
acclaimed clinicians Saundra Cabell, and Marilyn Heath, Olympian Lendon Grey,
and British clinician and author Mary Wanless. She also gleaned teaching tools
from auditing clinics with those instructors as well as with Olympians Carol
Lavell and Michael Poulin, and through scribing for International Dressage
Judge, Max Gahwyler.

From
1986 to 1993 Lisa May headed the instruction program at the largest Parks
Department Stable in NYC. In 1993, Lisa opened Federalsburg's Idylwild Farm.
She has taught adults and children of all levels of experience, confidence,
training and talent on horses of varying breeds and backgrounds. Lisa teaches
at home and at private farms in Maryland and Delaware. Lisa donates instruction
to 4H, Pony Club and Girl Scouts.

Since
1971 Matt has been a successful competitor initially as a Western and Endurance
rider and later as a Three Day Event and Dressage rider. Matt has trained
with eventers Jim Wofford, Mike Plumb and Denny Emerson, dressage instructors
Major Anders Lindgren and Lilo Fore and horse trainers Linda Tellington-Jones
and John Lyons.
Matt's
background has helped him develop an approach that addresses the individual
learning process of both horse and rider. Matt has coached Pony Clubs in California,
South Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware.
Matt
is also a Certified Journeyman Farrier.
